Highway Steel Guard Rail Systems

1. W-beam guardrail is the major type of semi-rigid guardrail. With W-shaped steel guardrail connected together, it is a continuous structure supported by stand column.
2. By taking the advantages of physical deformation of soil matrix, stand column and cross beam to absorb the energy from crash, the guardrail will force the runaway vehicles correct their driving direction and back to normal driving path, so as to stop vehicles rushing out from highway to protect both vehicles and passengers, thus lower down the accident loss.
3. W-beam guardrail can not only absorb crash energy, but also properly guide driving view with road alignment and other facilities, that’s why we say it is a soft decoration with a capacity of stiffness. It can be installed on minor radius curves, and is easy to connect as well as replace or repair.

The average distance between neighboring stand columns is 2m or 4m.
Two ways to connect stand column and sheet: obstruction block and bracket.
The standard quantity of highway W-beam guardrail: The standard distance between neighboring columns shall be 4m. 250 pieces of sheet, 250 columns, 2 end columns and 250 column caps, 250 obstruction blocks, 250 sets of M16×170/42 connecting bolt, 2000 sets of M16×35 splice bolts shall be used in every one kilometer.
